MADRID, FEB. 22 -- CoverWallet, the leading digital insurance platform for small businesses and an Aon company, today announced it is opening a new office in Seville to further grow its technology team. The company, which was founded in 2015 by Spanish entrepreneur Inaki Berenguer, is dedicated to using data science, UX/UI design, and advanced technology to make insurance easier for small and medium-sized businesses.
After experiencing exponential growth as a tech startup and raising more than $50 million from the same VC investors behind Twitter, Netflix, Slack and Uber, CoverWallet was acquired by Aon (NYSE: Aon), the global leader in risk, retirement, and health solutions with more than 50,000 colleagues around the world. In the time before the acquisition, CoverWallet won numerous awards including being named a top global startup by CNBC and Startup of the Year by the International Stevie Awards.

CoverWallet has more than 450 colleagues around the world, a third of which are in Spain. Seville is CoverWallet’s third office in the country, adding to existing locations in Madrid and Valencia. As part of the Technology team, colleagues have the opportunity to participate in hackathons and meetups, attend events with the leading disruptors in the space, have direct contact with the CEO and Founder, and learn from the most talented engineers in Spain. Members of the Tech team have led teams at companies including Spotify, Telefónica, Amazon, Facebook, Tuenti, Cabify, and Expedia, among others.
